Of all school-related factors that impact student learning, the two most powerful are, first, the teacher, and second, the principal. Consequently, schools are charged with the moral imperative to ensure that there is a highly effective teacher in every classroom and a highly effective leader in every building. Dr. Stronge will present research-based standards of professional practice and recommendations for designing a teacher evaluation system that focuses on both the processes and results of teaching. The workshop will be presented in an interactive format and will include handouts related to connecting teacher effectiveness to student achievement.
